What a persona is
Understand what a persona represents, find one in your workspace, and use it to read a draft.
A persona is a modelled reader for your outreach, not a record of a real prospect. A Standard persona represents a role and may carry the target details and known circumstances you selected. A Researched persona also represents a researched scenario.
Where they live
Open Personas from the left sidebar. Personas belong to the active workspace, so switching workspaces shows a different library.
Choosing from the library
Each Standard row is named by its role. A Researched row uses role · scenario and carries a Researched badge. Rows also show the target details used to narrow the reader.
Choose a row to open its detail panel. Use that panel to check who the persona represents, review its Segment profile when available, and see how it reacted in completed Simulations.
Finding a persona
Search matches the persona's role, its scenario when it has one, and its company line. It does not search the longer description in the detail panel.
Use the job-function chips to narrow the library. Only functions used by saved personas appear. If nothing matches, clear the search or choose All.
Choosing Standard or Researched
A Standard persona can be built from the role alone. Optional target details and known circumstances make the reader more specific. It has no Researched badge. If no target details or circumstances were selected, Known context says that current need and timing are unknown. Lite is the lowest plan that includes persona creation; Free does not create personas.
A Researched persona adds live research into the segment and a Segment profile explaining what the research found. It requires Plus or Pro. See Researched personas for its price and limits.
Using a persona in a Simulation
Lite is the lowest plan that includes Persona Reaction. Open a document and choose Persona Reaction in the right panel. Select a reader under Saved personas, or choose Create a persona to leave the document and create one. The creation flow returns you to the draft when the persona is ready.
Choose Simulate after selecting the reader. When the Simulation finishes, its reaction appears on the run. Completed reactions also appear in that persona's How they react section.
Quality Check does not use a persona. It evaluates the document without asking you to choose a reader.
A saved persona cannot be edited or renamed; create another persona when you need a different reader. You can delete one from its detail panel. It leaves the library and every persona picker for everyone in the workspace, while reactions already recorded on your documents stay where they are.
If the page will not load
Choose Try again if the Personas library fails to load. Also check the active workspace if a persona you expected is missing.
