Run your first Simulation
Pick a reader for your draft and start a Simulation from the document's right-hand panel.
You have a draft in front of you and no way to know how it reads to the person it is going to. A Simulation hands that draft to one simulated buyer. While the run works, Persona Reaction shows only its progress through the full read; once it finishes, you get the structured reaction.
You get an outcome in a single word, a score out of ten, the reason they landed there, the moments that worked, the moments that caused friction, and a line-by-line read that connects exact quoted words to the structured reaction. A run costs 10 credits and takes a minute or two, stated beside the button as Deep read · ~1–2 min. One run tests one reader, so comparing two readers means two runs.
What you need before you start
- Text in the document. Pressing Simulate on a blank draft comes back with
Add some text before running this. - A reader, either a saved persona or a quick reader you build in the panel.
- 10 credits in the workspace balance.
- Five message steps at most, if the document is a sequence. Any message is also capped at 10,000 characters, and a whole document at 50,000.
Choosing who reads it
The right-hand panel has two segments at the top, Quality Check and Simulation. Switch to Simulation, then use Persona Reaction for the single-reader run described here. Simulation carries a small violet dot until the first time you open it, which is a hint rather than a status light.
The first screen is headed Who should read this?, with the line Pick one of your personas, or build a new one for this draft. There are two routes.
A saved persona
Below the divider or pick a saved one sit a search box and your list, headed Your personas · with the count matching what you typed. A search matching nothing shows No readers match that search.
Choosing a persona opens their screen, which shows Right now and Why now when that persona carries them, and otherwise one line saying they will react from their role alone. Switch in the header returns you to the chooser. With no saved personas at all, this block is hidden and building a new reader is the only route.
A quick reader
Go with a new persona starts a three-screen build, described on the card as Pick a role and tune it in a few clicks — lives with this draft.
Pick a role. The screen is headed Who is your reader? and holds the role catalog, a search box and a row of job-function chips beginning with All. If nothing matches you get No roles match those filters. and a Create this role → link carrying what you typed into the full persona flow. Continue stays disabled until a role is selected.
Tune it. Under Who is reading you can set Segment, Size and Markets. Segment and Size start at Any, meaning the reader is not narrowed on that axis. Below them are six observable signals, such as Just raised; tick only what you actually know, since Not sure? Skip — the persona already models typical pressures for this seat. Continue then reads Building reader… while the reader is put together, free of charge. If that fails you stay here with a toast.
Read the confirm card. The header names the role, appends Quick reader and ends with this document only. Below it are What's driving them right now, What lands, What kills and How they read cold outreach. The situation sentence ends in "assumed": it comes from the role and the boxes you ticked, not from anything known about a real person.
A quick reader lives with this draft only. Save to my personas on the confirm screen keeps it as a workspace persona, changing to Saving… and then Saved to your personas with no toast. That control appears only there, so if you skip it and run, the reader is gone from the chooser afterwards.
Pressing Simulate
Press Simulate. The cost line underneath reads 10 credits, and the panel moves into the Persona Reaction phase view: Preparing context, Reading the draft and Interpreting reaction. It does not stream the role-play text or a partial verdict. Building and tuning a reader costs nothing; Simulate is the only thing here that spends credits. From that moment until the reaction lands, the document canvas stops accepting edits.

If it refuses to start
Some conditions block the run before anything is charged, each with its own card:
- Not enough credits: "This simulation needs 10 credits. Open Billing to review the balance or ask your organization owner for help.", with an Open billing in new tab link.
- Billing is updating, Simulation is paused and Balance needs attention: the same billing link, each with its own explanation.
- Review the price, when the cost changed between opening the panel and pressing, and Simulation is unavailable, when the account cannot run one right now.
- This sequence is too long: "Simulations support up to five message steps. Shorten this sequence and try again."
All offer Review reader, which returns you to the setup with your reader intact, except the sequence one, which offers Edit sequence and closes the panel over the draft. None of them charge you.
