What research found, and where it puts you

Where the scan leaves you, what it wrote into your Knowledge Base, and when to go back and check it.

Research finishes on the line Your business context is ready — carrying your own company name in place of Your when the scan confirmed which company it was reading — and the line Taking you to your first persona…, and then it takes you there. It does not stop to walk you through what it learned. Two things happened while you watched the stages tick: your Knowledge Base was filled in, and the roles most likely to evaluate your offer were picked out for you.

Where you land

Where you go depends on what came back. Both halves — context written into your Knowledge Base and buyers to start from — and you land on Personas. Anything short of both, including a skip and a website we could not read, and you land on your Knowledge Base.

After a scan that returned both

You arrive on Personas with a badge reading Website analyzed · yourdomain.com and a heading: Start with the people most likely to evaluate your offer. Under it sits a card headed Recommended personas to create, captioned Selected from signals found across yourdomain.com.

Every recommended row is already ticked. The count on the right reads N selected, and each row carries a Why: line naming the signal it came from, so you can see what a role was chosen on before you agree to it.

  • Create N personas builds the ones still ticked. It runs for a moment on Creating… and then your library holds them.
  • Untick anything that does not belong. The count and the button follow along, and with nothing ticked the button is disabled rather than hidden.
  • Choose manually skips the set and opens the catalog, where the same suggestions wait under Proposed for you, marked from your knowledge base.

After a skip, a failure, or a scan that returned only part

You land on your Knowledge Base, and which of the three brought you decides what is waiting there.

If part of the scan survived, what it wrote is already on the shelf to open.

After a skip, the shelf reads Create your first knowledge file. Nothing asks you for a website again — you already declined that question once — but while you still have a scan left, Business research is right there to run one.

After a failure, and while a replacement scan is still included, you get the starter board instead of that empty state, headed Start with your business context — you did give us a website, so the way back in belongs on the screen. A note reading Business research didn’t finish says what stopped it, and under that sits either Change website, when we could not read enough from the site you gave us, or the board's own address field with Start business research. Skip beside that field puts the board away for good.

Personas are not gone. You were just not sent there first. Open Personas yourself and it reads Create your first persona, and the seat waiting in the catalog under Proposed for you is captioned a place to start rather than as something we learned.

What went into the Knowledge Base

While that was happening, the scan wrote what your public pages support into six areas.

AreaWhat it holds
PositioningWhat sets you apart
OffersWhat you sell
ProofWhat backs your claims
AudienceWho it is for
VoiceHow you sound
AlternativesWhat buyers compare

Nothing there is a document dump. Each area holds separate items, each item keeps the quoted excerpt it came from, and each one can be confirmed or corrected on its own.

Checking it, when you want to

You are not asked to sign off on any of it before you start working. But everything downstream reads from here, and a check or a simulation built on a wrong idea of what you sell will be confidently wrong, so it is worth an unhurried ten minutes at some point.

Two places tell you how much is waiting. The number beside Knowledge Base in the sidebar opens the shelf, where everything sits whether it needs you or not. The Needs review · N chip on that shelf opens the queue itself, item by item, with Confirm, Correct, Dismiss — leave empty and Skip for now under each. Work it whenever it suits you, in as many sittings as you like.

The sidebar count fails quiet: if it cannot be read, the badge simply does not appear. An absent badge is not proof that nothing needs reviewing. Open the Knowledge Base to be sure.
