What research found, and where it puts you
Where the scan leaves you, what it wrote into your Knowledge Base, and when to go back and check it.
Business research can add sourced business context to your Knowledge Base and recommend buyer roles. Where you land next depends on which of those results it produced.
Where you land
If the scan produced both business context and buyer recommendations, you land on Personas. On Free, you land on the example message instead, ready for your first Quality Check, because Free does not include persona creation. The recommendations are still on Personas. If the scan produced only part of the result, failed, or you skipped research, you land on the Knowledge Base instead.
After a scan that returned both
No recommended persona is selected when the page opens. Read the Why: line on each one, then tick the roles that fit.
- Create N personas creates the roles you selected. On Free, it shows the plan prompt instead, because Free does not create personas.
- Choose manually opens the full role catalog. On Free, it shows the plan prompt instead. Recommendations remain available under Proposed for you.
After a skip, a failure, or a scan that returned only part
Anything the scan managed to save is already on the Knowledge Base shelf. If no context was saved, you can add files yourself. The page may also offer Business research, Change website, or Try again when another research attempt is available.
You can still open Personas and choose a role manually. A role shown after incomplete research is a starting point, not a claim that the website proved it was your buyer.
What went into the Knowledge Base
Research sorts its findings into seven kinds of knowledge file and keeps the supporting public-page excerpt with each sourced item. See Letting unpitch research your business for the file types and what a scan can add.
Today, an ICP Segment file can supply context when you create a persona. The other knowledge files are reference material for you; they are not automatically added to a Quality Check or Simulation.
Checking it, when you want to
You can start working before reviewing every item. Check an ICP Segment before using it to create a persona, and correct other files before relying on them as your own reference.
Open the Needs review · N chip to work through the queue. For each item you can Confirm it, Correct it, Dismiss — leave empty, or Skip for now.
The sidebar badge can disappear when its count cannot be loaded. Open the Knowledge Base if you need to confirm whether anything still needs review.
