Autosave and the Ready mark
Know when edits are saved, and use the Ready mark to flag the draft you intend to send.
A new canvas is temporary until you choose Create document. After creation, later edits save automatically.
When saving happens
On an existing document, the editor saves about five seconds after you stop typing.
Saved appears after a successful save. If you see Save failed, your text remains in the editor but has not reached the server. Stay on the page, restore the connection, and edit again to trigger another save. Copy the unsaved text somewhere safe before reloading or leaving, and wait for Saved before closing the document.
The brand new canvas is different
A new canvas is an unsaved draft. Type or paste your text, then choose Create document. The button becomes available once the draft contains text.
unpitch may generate a title from the draft. You can rename it after the full document opens.
Typing, pausing, or leaving the writing area does not create a document. Leaving the page before choosing Create document discards the draft. If creation fails, the text stays in the editor so you can try again.
If a save reports that the document changed elsewhere, the local draft is left unsaved rather than overwriting the newer copy. Keep a copy of your local text, reopen the document in one tab, and reconcile the changes there.
What the Ready mark is
Mark as ready flags the current wording as the draft you intend to send. It does not send anything, lock editing, or report that a check passed.
Set or remove it from the panel beside the draft or the document's three-dot menu. A READY badge then appears beside the document in lists.
What it does not mean
The mark belongs to the exact text you marked. Editing hides the READY badge. If the content later matches that wording again, the badge returns.
If you keep an edit, review the new wording and mark it again. An archived document cannot be newly marked Ready, though you can remove an existing mark. Ready remains independent of Quality Check and Simulation.
