Building a sequence
Write a multi-step email or LinkedIn cadence, set its timing, and test it as an ordered sequence.
Use Email Sequence or LinkedIn DM Sequence when the later message depends on what came before it. Both use a stack of cards and are tested as an ordered cadence.
The canvas starts with one card. The first card has no send timing because it starts the sequence; later days are counted from it.
What is on a step
- Label: choose a suggested purpose such as First touch or Follow-up, or type your own.
- Send timing: on every card after the first, choose when it happens. A custom number becomes Day N, counted from the start of the sequence.
- Subject: each cold email step has a one-line subject.
- Body: write the message for that touch.
Suggested timing versus chosen timing
Every later step begins with a suggested day. Changing an earlier day shifts the unchosen suggestions below it. Choosing a day pins that step. A Simulation reads the day displayed on screen even if you left it as a suggestion.
Send timing is context for the test. unpitch does not schedule, send, deliver, or track these messages.
Adding and removing steps
Choose Add step or Add message below the last card. To remove one, open that card's three-dot menu and choose Delete step or Delete message. A sequence always keeps at least one card.
After deletion, use Undo in the toast to restore the card in its original position.
The connection request counter
The first LinkedIn sequence message shows a 300-character counter. The editor does not stop you going over 300 and does not verify LinkedIn's current limit. Check the destination before sending. Later messages show a plain character count.
How a sequence is checked
A Quality Check and a Persona Reaction both read the non-empty steps in order, with their subjects and bodies. Blank cards are left out of that reading. A Quality Check also reads each step's label, but not its timing. A Persona Reaction reads the displayed timing, but not the labels.
A Persona Reaction uses the selected Connection with you setting; Cold contact reads as a first contact from a stranger. Under Interaction between steps, an Actual reply or Hypothetical reply can precede a later non-empty step. Otherwise, later steps are read as arriving after no reply. In a LinkedIn sequence, connection acceptance remains separate from a written reply.
A Quality Check accepts a sequence with up to 50 cards, including blank cards, 10,000 text characters in one card, and 50,000 across the sequence. Simulation uses the same limits and also accepts at most five non-empty steps. Both refuse an oversized sequence instead of reading only part of it.
On a new canvas, adding blank cards is not enough to create a document. Add real text, then choose Create document.
